Young India opener Prithvi Shaw created history on Thursday as he became the eighth Indian batsmen to score a double-century in List A cricket. Leading the Mumbai team against Pondicherry, Shaw remained unbeaten on  227 as they finished at 457/4 after 50 overs.

Pondicherry were bowled out for 224, 3 runs lesser than the former India U-19 World Cup-winning captain's score. On the occasion of Shaw's double-ton, here's a look at 7 other Indian batsmen who have a double-century in List A cricket -

Sachin Tendulkar: The first-ever batsman to score a double-century in ODIs, Sachin Tendulkar achieved the milestone against South Africa in February 2010. It was a time when scoring a double-century seemed to be a distant dream. And Tendulkar paved the way for others. The India legend scored 200* off 147. Riding on his knock, India scored 401/3.

Virender Sehwag: The second batsman to breach the 200-run mark at the highest level, Virender Sehwag joined Tendulkar on the list with a 219-run knock against West Indies in December 2011. Leading the side in MS Dhoni's absence, Sehwag scored 219 off 149, and smashed 7 sixes.

Shikhar Dhawan: Selected for the India A  for South Africa tour a month after the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, Dhawan shone in the 6th match of the tri-series when he scored 248 off 150 against a bowling attack consisting of players like Hardus Viljoen, Beuran Hendricks, Dane Piedt and others. Dhawan's knock included 30 four and 7 sixes. Courtesy of his double-ton, India scored 433/3.

Rohit Sharma (thrice): Not once or twice, Rohit Sharma has breached the 200-run mark thrice in ODIs. Two years after Sehwag, Rohit joined him and Sachin on the list when he scored his maiden double-century against Australia. A year later, he smashed 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens. And 3 years later, Rohit once again hit a double-century - against Sri Lanka.

Sanju Samson: Courtesy of his double-century for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20, Sanju Samson pressed a case for selection and earned a recall in the T20I side after 4 years. The wicketkeeper-batsman remained unbeaten on 212 off just 129 balls, batting at 164. 34. He hit 21 fours and 10 sixes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: The youngest batsman to hit a double-century in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal had joined the elite list just a few days after Samson. Opening the innings for Mumbai, Jaiswal scored 203 off 154. The defending champions finished at 358/3 against Jharkhand and won by 39 runs.

Karan Kaushal: The first-ever batsman to score a double-century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karan Kaushal hit 202 off just 135 against balls against Sikkim in the 2018/219 season. He smashed  18 fours and 9 sixes at 149.63.
